Rechargeable Batteries |
The spherical dipole antenna operates on battery power so no metal wires or conductors will interfere with the repeatability and accuracy of the DRFS. A pair of Li-Ion batteries are installed inside the spherical dipole antenna to provide the power needed for the internal electronics. When fully charged, the batteries can provide power for up to 12-15+ hours of continuous use (depending on the clock frequency selected).
A push button switch on the spherical dipole allows the batteries in the spherical dipole to be turned on/off, allowing the useful battery life to be extended. When the power is switched 'on', a green LED on the sphere black ring is illuminated. An internal Low-Voltage detection circuit activates a relay to disable output battery power and enable a buzzer to indicate a Low Voltage state. Batteries require about 4-5 hours to fully recharge once completely depleted to this low voltage state.
