The DRFS is supplied with a single battery board with accepts five (5) standard AA sized batteries.  The user may select to use rechargeable of non-rechargeable AA batteries at their discression.  Each AA battery cell must be removed in order to replace with new Alkaline AA battery cells or freshly charged rechargeable AA battery cells.  Environmentally friendly Ni-MH AA rechargeable batteries are highly recommended.  Up to 4 to 6 hours of operation is typical for a fully charged set of  batteries.

Users may also purchase our standard AAA  rechargeable battery board (as described under the USDS).  This battery board provides capability to recharge the AAA batteries on-board.
