| USB-S Applications |
The USB-S is typically directly connected
to a RF receiver or spectrum analyzer using the SMA connector
on the top of the unit. The amplitude of the harmonics
will vary at different frequencies depending on the fundamental
frequency selected and the observation frequency. However,
at all specified frequencies the RF level will be well above
the specified radiated limits, allowing users to easily compare
signal levels with previous/subsequent tests, without the need
to be concerns about the receiver noise floor.
The USB-S fundamental frequencies are
10 MHz, 64 MHz, 100 MHz, and 133 MHz. The fundamental frequency also indicates
the step size of the harmonic frequency. Higher fundamental
frequencies will results in higher harmonic energy at high
frequencies.
When the optional low frequency pulser
is activated, the receiver’s
quasi-peak detector can be tested. The receiver measured
level should decrease by 2-3 dB (over the peak value) when
this option is activated. |
